Position Summary
The Manager of Operations & Facilities supports the daily operations of the theater and helps ensure that all spaces are safe, functional, and ready for use. This role coordinates building maintenance, assists with event and performance logistics, and supports front-of-house operations. This position is hands-on and execution-focused. The Manager works closely with the Vice President of Operations & Finance to carry out operational plans and ensure consistent follow-through across departments.
This position is based in San Antonio and will require in-person attendance, as well as some night and weekend duties onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Support
Support the day-to-day operations of the theater
Assist with performance and event logistics across multiple spaces
Coordinate setup needs, including furniture, signage, and supplies
Help ensure all spaces are clean, organized, and ready for use
Facilities Coordination
Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs
Schedule and follow up with vendors (HVAC, janitorial, general repairs)
Track facility issues and report status updates to leadership
Assist in monitoring building conditions during events and rehearsals
Front of House & Event Support
Support front-of-house operations as needed
Assist with staffing coordination and communication
Be present for select evenings and weekends to support performances and events
Help troubleshoot operational issues in real time
Organization & Systems
Maintain task lists, checklists, and operational calendars
Track open items and follow up to ensure completion
Support the development and use of simple systems to improve efficiency
Safety & Compliance Support
Help maintain a safe environment for staff and patrons
Support incident reporting and documentation
Assist with basic safety procedures and emergency readiness
Scope of Role
This role is responsible for supporting and coordinating operations and facilities functions. Final decision-making authority remains with the Vice President of Operations & Finance.
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in theater, events, or venue operations preferred
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working evenings and weekends as needed
Deep love and understanding of theatre with the ability to authentically represent the art form and connect with theatre audiences across demographics
Work Environment
This position operates in a live theater environment with multiple performance and rehearsal spaces. The role includes both administrative and physical tasks, including lifting, moving equipment, and being on-site during events.
