Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Manager of Critical Care (CVICU RN) for a top healthcare client in Dallas, TX.
This leadership role oversees daily operations of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), supporting patient-centered care and high clinical standards. The Manager will co-lead the department alongside another manager, supervising 40 FTEs within a 28-bed CVICU and ECMO team. The ideal candidate will bring advanced leadership experience in critical care, strong communication skills, and a record of operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
• Direct and coordinate nursing care delivery in the CVICU, ensuring compliance with hospital standards and evidence-based practices.
• Lead staff development, scheduling, and evaluation to maintain a high-performing and engaged team.
• Collaborate with physicians, ECMO specialists, and interdisciplinary leaders to optimize patient outcomes.
• Develop and recommend policies, programs, and initiatives to improve the quality and efficiency of care.
• Maintain effective communication channels with staff, administration, and medical teams.
• Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and department expansion efforts.
• Promote professional growth, mentorship, and continuous quality improvement.
Requirements:
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required; advanced degree preferred
Experience
• Minimum of 4 years of recent acute care CVICU/ICU leadership experience required
Certifications/Licenses
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or Compact State required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• CCRN and/or CNRN preferred
Skills or Competencies
• Proven ability to lead complex critical care operations
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Strong clinical knowledge in cardiovascular and intensive care nursing
• Ability to mentor staff and drive team engagement
