The Manager - Media Strategy & Planning (US focus) sits within the Global Planning team reporting up to the Senior Manager/Director.
This role leads integrated channel strategy, media planning and execution for the US market to deliver on market growth, brand and performance objectives. As a senior member of the Global Media Strategy and Planning team they will also lead key initiatives at a global level and in other priority markets.

This role will be expected to bring together consumer insight/audience understanding, market intelligence and strategic planning to deliver integrated channel planning and agile media and content plans. They will be required to work closely with external media agencies and internal teams (including Digital Media Team, Brand Communications, Analytics and Insights). Driving a culture of customer centricity, data-driven decision making, automation and adaptive planning based on learnings and future needs.

 

B.Responsible

• Consumer strategy development and integrated media planning for the US and other priority markets that delivers on business needs, growth opportunities and brand leadership.

• Holistic channel & messaging strategy and detailed media planning for campaigns. Built on an in-depth understanding of consumer behaviour, channel performance and relevant technology solutions.

• Manage complex, large and/or difficult strategic Media projects/workstreams with little oversight; from development to implementation and evaluation.

• Prepare reports and make recommendations to senior management on how to deliver against objectives in the US and other priority markets.

• Identification of market and/or audience opportunities; analyze competitor activities; or evaluate the success of the organization's marketing.

• Plan, prioritize, and align projects across internal and external teams within established budgets to deliver on business performance goals.

• Drive cross-functional alignment on objectives and attribution. Ensure all activities are measurable against KPI’s and utilizes channels in the most efficient and effective way.

• Annual budget modelling and ongoing business cases for investment. Day to day US budget ownership.

• Foster innovation through identifying and launching impactful experiments to assess effectiveness of channels and strategies that will fuel future growth.

• Manage and build external partner relationships to support business success. Including RFI/RFP management, negotiation, service agreements, talent/resources and performance management. With a focus on Media agencies and related services.

• Understand business needs and drive change accordingly, taking ownership of removing any impediments that slow down progress and innovation, even outside the team scope. Strongly collaborate with other functions / units to find viable solutions.

• Manage individuals and hire new employees. Ensures the development of individuals within the organization. Coaches and directs people to allow them to achieve both organizational and individual objectives;

• Champion a culture of inclusivity and adaptability to change across the team and department.

• Lead projects with cross-functional impact on the organization. Foster relationships across the business to enable greater delivery on organization objectives.

• Control data quality and check the effective data integrity.

 

B.Skilled

• Bachelor's degree 

• 10-12+ years of professional experience in digital media marketing, preferably within e-commerce, travel, consumer services or marketing industries

• Extensive experience in strategy development, integrated channel planning and media planning (online & offline)

• US market experience required. Multi-market experience is a plus.

• In-house/client side experience highly preferential.

• 6+ years specifically in a Media / strategic planning role.

• Proven strength in developing and evaluating omni-channel strategies and content effectiveness to raise the bar on brand and performance marketing effectiveness

• Solid experience in agency & external partner management.

• Strong digital, programmatic media and ad-tech knowledge. Proficient in using digital media for performance.

• Experience in leading a high-performing team and developing individuals.

• Experience leading cross-functional teams in an international environment

• Ability to influence and adapt communication style to effectively communicate to senior stakeholders & peers.

• Ability to drive innovation forward, respond quickly to learnings and available data and adapt rapidly.

• Solution oriented and result driven

• Strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful

• Proactive, flexible and capable of working independently as well as working in a team

• Good communication (i.e. public speaking) and analytical skills
