Manager - Direct Tax

JioStar is looking for a tax professional with strong expertise in both domestic and international tax regulations. The ideal candidate should be capable of independently managing tax compliances, ensuring accurate and timely filings across jurisdictions. The role also involves representing the company in tax litigation matters before the Assessing Officer, Transfer Pricing Officer, and Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals).

Key Responsibilities::
• Preparation of Tax returns and handling other Tax compliances as required under the law for India as well as foreign jurisdiction
• Drafting of Technical submissions and review of details for scrutiny assessments/inquires/notices
• Drafting appeals before CIT(A), ITAT, High Court
• Representing before Tax authorities for assessments/ appeals, Lower withholding order and other related matters
• Drafting requisite submissions for filing before Tax authorities and timely replying to notice
• Partnering with Finance / cross functional teams
• Finalization of Tax audits including liaise with auditors and advisors
• Assisting in briefing to Counsel/Sr. Counsels
• Computation of Provision of tax, Advance Tax, ETR, DTL/DTL
• Assisting in WHT tax compliances, foreign remittances,
• Preparing financial closing deliverables for quarter/year end in time bound manner
• Advise on applicability of withholding Tax on domestic and foreign transactions
• Periodic Preparation of Tax MIS/ reports to management and Updation of repository
• Tracking all notices, inquiries, hearings and update notice register.
• Assisting in automation projects to improve Tax compliance and upgrade Tax tools to support growth of the business
• Update teams on recent changes in the law and keep herself/himself updated with recent judicial pronouncements at various courts

Preferred Education and Experience::
• Chartered Accountant with 6–7 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax .
• Exposure in handling in-depth direct tax compliances of Corporates for India as well for International Tax jurisdictions.
• Experience in handling Tax inquires, Managing Litigations (including drafting responses, drafting appeals and technical memos) and representation before tax authorities.
• Tax Technology experience helping digitalization of records to ensure timely and accurate compliances.
• Should have good knowledge of SAP/ERPs.
