GLG is seeking a high-calibre professional to join our Greater China, Financial Services team in Hong Kong. This is a pivotal role within our Public & Private Markets segment, focusing on our Greater China portfolio. As a Business Development and Account Management Manager, you will act as a strategic partner to sophisticated investment professionals—including hedge funds, private credit, and global banks—delivering high-value insights through GLG’s global network.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
• Commercial Ownership & Portfolio Growth
• Strategic Account Management: Take full accountability for a designated Greater China book of business. Act as a "thought partner" to design and deliver custom projects, including consultations, surveys, and bespoke market studies.
• Revenue Generation: Proactively generate demand for GLG products and services by identifying new opportunities within existing accounts and spearheading outreach to prospective clients.
• Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of Greater China market trends to provide proactive, alpha-generating ideas to investment teams.
• Content Strategy & Tactical Network Development
• Trend Forecasting: Proactively identify emerging themes and "hot topics" within the Greater China investment landscape (e.g., regulatory shifts, AI supply chain inflections, or distressed credit opportunities).
• Event Orchestration: Conceptualize and execute high-impact client events, such as thematic roundtables, webinars, and field trips, that position GLG as a thought leader.
• Tactical Expert Acquisition: Execute "just-in-time" recruitment of high-value Network Members, moving beyond the existing database to find and onboard the exact experts needed for niche or urgent investment theses.
• High-Touch Client Service & Excellence
• Execution Mastery: Deliver world-class service marked by extreme responsiveness, technical accuracy, and a deep understanding of the client’s "blind spots."
• Compliance & Integrity: Exercise flawless judgment regarding GLG’s policies and procedures, clearly communicating the value of our compliance platform to both clients and experts.
• Innovation: Partner with internal Compliance and Product teams to create innovative solutions that navigate the complexities of data privacy and regulatory requirements in the region.
• Company-Wide Collaboration
• Ecosystem Integration: Work in collaborative interoffice teams to grow and promote client relationships and Network Member engagement globally.
• Strategic Initiatives: Lead or contribute to internal projects aimed at scaling the Hong Kong business and mentoring junior team members.
Candidate Profile
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher from a top-tier institution.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a high-performance, client-facing environment (Financial Services, Equity Research, Management Consulting, etc.).
• Commercial Instinct: A proven track record of meeting commercial targets and a "hunter" mindset for new business.
• Intellectual Curiosity: Deep interest in Public/Private capital markets and the ability to converse fluently with sophisticated investors.
• Entrepreneurial Drive: Proven ability to connect market news to client needs and launch proactive initiatives or events.
• Communication Mastery: Exceptional verbal and written skills. Native or near-native fluency in both English, Mandarin, Cantonese is essential.
• Agility: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with extreme attention to detail.
