Role Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Manager and Leader for our Central Build Project Management team. As the principal liaison between various departments and teams, you will be responsible for supporting all network build activities in accordance with our company's standards, values, goals, and North Stars.
Your main duties will include overseeing a team of Project Managers with a summary project shop in one or more of the following business streams:
1) Customer Driven – TX or INFRA
2) Flex ILS rollout and spectrum optimization programs
3) Strategic Investment Programs – including new Strategic DCs
4) Cost Saving – COR Programs
5) General Program
As Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that project timelines are met, budgets are managed effectively, and all stakeholders are kept informed of project progress. You will work closely with Service Delivery, Strategic Investments, Central & Regional Engineering teams, Operations department, Finance, Vendor Management, GIS, external Vendors & consultants, and other teams to ensure successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a proven track record of managing complex projects, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a strong understanding of network build activities. Key responsibilities
Lead a team of Build Project Managers responsible for assigned Network Projects & Programs, providing expert guidance and quality improvement tactics that deepen expertise within assigned business streams.
Define and enhance team processes and customize them based on assigned business streams, while establishing KPIs and goals for each Project Manager and business stream.
Create and automate reports for the assigned business stream, constantly striving for improvements and customizations.
Ensure highest quality assurance is applied to all Projects & Programs within the owned Project Shop and maintain clean Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRMs) and Network Inventory Systems.
Manage, recruit, and mentor the assigned Build Project Management team as a subject matter expert.
Support the Build Project Management leader in escalations and provide general network stats and reports related to assigned business streams.
Assist in CRM and tools development streams and constantly generate ideas for improvement.
Support external consultants’ queries and programs.
Act as the administrator for Vendors’ portals.
Serve as the deputy for the Build Project Management leader.
Individual Profile
Proven track record of team management/lead experience for at least 2 years
Strong experience in project or program management within a multi-national Telco/IT environment
Proficient in using any Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) such as Oracle, Siebel, Sales Force, CMD, etc.
Excellent knowledge of telco-related technologies, including Infrastructure and Facility, Transmission, IP, and Voice technology and principles.
Proactive in identifying ways to improve efficiency and results.
Ability to anticipate and analyse problems clearly and determine appropriate solutions or alternatives.
Proficient in MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and CRM systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated with exceptional organizational and communication skills.
Strong sense of urgency and the ability to convey it to peers, management, and suppliers alike.
Attention to detail and a highly structured approach to work management.
Able to operate in a cross-functional matrix-management environment.
Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
Strong time management skills.
Team player with a flexible and adaptable attitude.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Fluent in English language skills.
