Job overview

As the Manager, Brand Design, you'll join the fastest-growing ethnic e-grocer in the market, leading creative systems and brand design for a multibrand family across Weee!, MásGusto, private label, and our future brands, all remarkably positioned for expansive growth. This growth requires ownership and a leader to think big and scalably across their expansion. This pivotal role will lead and transform our creative and brand design teams, driving design across merchandising, brand, communications, and creative domains that powers our market expansion. You'll be a core contributor and leader in our design ecosystem, with the opportunity to directly shape our brand's visual identity and strategic creative direction and grow with our team. You will be a direct collaborator with our Marketing, and Product teams, championing delightful, scalable, and tasteful brand and creative systems.

Requirements & qualifications

Technical proficiency & education

• 6+ years design experience, with 3+ years in a design leadership role

• Proven track record managing merchandising and brand design teams within ecommerce businesses with seasonal and ongoing demands while building a cohesive brand

• Expert proficiency in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Framer)

• Proficiency in utilizing AI systems and basic engineering to drive creative automation and improve creative output

• Understanding of building and leveraging existing brand automation systems that scale across multiple platforms, brands, and departments

• Ability to proactively dive deep and understand complex problems and translate them into sustainable and practical solutions for your team and others to leverage

Portfolio & track record

• Strong portfolio demonstrating strategic design leadership and creative excellence

• Remarkably high quality bar and stamina to push for the best while guiding and coaching your team along the way

• Proficiency in designing for multilingual or multicultural markets is a plus. Experience creating design assets that resonate across different language and cultural contexts would be highly valued.

Design leadership

• Strong project and time management skills with ability to coordinate complex, multi-team initiatives into a larger creative vision

• Experience in developing existing processes and implementing new processes to nurture team culture, workflow, development, and growth

• Exceptional communication skills working across distributed teams within your function and cross-functionally (NYC, Bay Area, Shanghai)

• Expert proficiency in presentations and narrating longer term visions of strategy and team workflow

Compensation Range

• The US base salary range for this full-time position is $127,500 - $150,000

• This role may be eligible to discretionary bonus, incentives and benefits

• Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location
