We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Manager of Automation Infrastructure to lead a global team of specialized Software and Infrastructure Engineers. Your mission will be to design, build, and scale a world-class test automation infrastructure that empowers our engineering teams to deliver high-quality software with speed and confidence.

In this capacity, you will be the owner of the core automation frameworks and the underlying infrastructure that supports our entire testing ecosystem. This is a key leadership position that requires a strong architectural vision, deep technical expertise in software development and infrastructure, and the ability to champion a robust and scalable platform that enables quality across the organization.

What you’ll do:

Framework Architecture & Development:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of highly scalable, reliable, and efficient test automation frameworks and tools.

• Establish and enforce best practices for framework development, ensuring code quality and long-term maintainability.

• Drive the architectural evolution of our testing platform to meet future needs.

Infrastructure & Tooling:

• Own and manage the infrastructure required for test execution, optimizing for speed, stability, and cost-effectiveness in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

• Integrate automation frameworks seamlessly into our CI/CD pipelines in partnership with the DevOps team.

• Research, evaluate, and implement cutting-edge tools and AI capabilities to enhance our testing and development productivity.

Team Leadership:

• Lead a highly skilled team of Software and Infrastructure Engineers, providing technical mentorship and career guidance.

• Work closely with the Senior Manager of Quality Engineering to ensure your team's roadmap aligns with the broader quality and engineering strategy.

• Foster a culture of innovation, ownership, and engineering excellence within your team.

Collaboration, Mentorship, & Enablement:

• Partner with engineering, product, and DevOps teams to understand their needs and ensure the automation platform provides maximum value.

• Provide technical mentorship and expert guidance to SDETs embedded in other product teams, fostering best practices in test automation and helping them solve complex technical challenges.

• Act as a key consultant and service owner for internal teams, providing the tools, documentation, and support needed to enable "shift-left" testing practices.

• Champion the adoption and effective use of the automation infrastructure across all of engineering.

Metrics & Reporting:

• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the automation infrastructure, such as framework stability, test execution speed, and internal adoption rates.

• Provide regular reports to leadership on the health, performance, and impact of the automation platform.

What you’ll Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 7+ years of experience in **software or infrastructure engineering**, with a focus on building tooling and automation platforms.

• 3+ years in a leadership role, managing a team of technical engineers.

• Expert-level experience in designing, building, and maintaining automation frameworks or developer tools from the ground up.

• Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., **Python, TypeScript, Java**) and deep expertise in test frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress).

• Strong experience with SaaS architectures and managing infrastructure in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating test automation into DevOps workflows (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).

• Demonstrated ability to lead a highly technical team, set a clear vision, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong architectural and system design skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

• Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.

• A proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Advantages - experience in:

• Playwright with TypeScript for building robust frameworks.

• Implementing infrastructure to support shift-left testing strategies.

• Validating complex data systems, including data mocking, data integrity testing, and ensuring data quality.
