HEABC leads and supports the strategic planning related to human resources and labour relations on behalf of British Columbia’s publicly funded health employers. HEABC is responsible for negotiating provincial agreements for 138,000 unionized health care employees including nurses, physician residents, ambulance paramedics, health science professionals, and more.

HEABC’s Human Resources, Strategies & Services (HRSS) department is responsible for the administration of a number of Health Human Resource initiatives across the province. Health Match BC delivers high quality recruitment services for in-demand and priority occupations. OPPORTUNITY:

Reporting to Executive Director, Nursing, Allied, and Associated Programs, the Manager, Allied Health, demonstrates competencies in the areas of partner relations, recruitment, communications, team leadership, and complex problem solving. The Manager plays a leadership role within Health Match BC and works alongside our provincial recruitment partners in the development and implementation of local, regional, national and international recruitment activities. In addition, the Manager supports the development of navigation services and allied health recruitment incentives/bursaries, on behalf of the provincial Ministry of Health.

 

Responsibilities include:

Establishes and maintains relationships with, and between, key internal and external partners, including government, health authorities, regulatory bodies, professional associations, unions and municipalities.

In consultation with the Executive Director, Nursing, Allied, and Associated Programs, develops and executes annual, monthly, and daily work plans for Health Match BC allied health recruitment staff.

Oversees Health Match BC’s allied health recruitment activities relating to sourcing, candidate engagement, pipeline management, reporting and bursaries/incentives.

Oversees and evaluates the work and performance of staff.

Manages complex projects including the establishment of work plans, project timelines, and capacity planning.

Participates on provincial committees and working groups related to allied health recruitment and retention.

Required Experience:

University degree in human resources, business administration, life sciences or a related field and a minimum of ten (10) years’ recent experience in the health care sector, providing expertise in recruitment strategies, process improvement, and project management with a minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in a leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Demonstrated customer service skills, communication skills (verbal and written); and computer software/hardware skills.

Ability to provide strategic consultative advice

Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to facilitate resolutions within unclear guidelines and established frameworks

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Ability to make formal presentations

Knowledge of process improvement strategies, such as Lean Six Sigma, considered an asset.

Strong project management, numeracy and budgeting skills, and data analysis skills required.

Salary Range: $88,990 to $116,798

Typical Hiring Range: $88,990 to $111,237

In determining salary, HEABC considers many factors including the successful candidate’s skillset and experience as well as internal equity. The final salary offer will be at HEABC’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
