About the Role

Workday is seeking an Accounting Manager who wants to make their mark on a growing organization. The candidate should be a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in an ambitious, fast-paced environment. This role reports to the Director of Corporate Accounting.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 4 – 6 team members

• Manage multiple key areas for global month-end close process including but not limited to bank reconciliation, prepaid expense review, expense accruals, balance sheet account reconciliations

• Support Balance Sheet and Income Statement flux analysist after period-end close

• Collaborate and coordinate with various business partners including Treasury, FP&A, Accounts Payable teams for proper recording of transactions

• Support external audits and reviews by ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules to the auditors

• Create and update Standard Operating Procedures for business processes on ongoing basis

• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation and regularly interact with business owners and management on accounting matters

• Develop and mentor accounting staff to build their professional career and maximize potential

• Perform ad hoc analyses and projects from various business partners

About You

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or with an emphasis in accounting)

• In depth knowledge of US General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)and principles

• 8+ years of accounting experience; public traded company highly preferred

• 4+ years in people leadership/managerial role

• Experience using a large ERP system

• Ability to adapt to the rapid business and high-growth environment

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Experience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performed

• High attention to detail and accuracy
