Job Description for the Maintenance Worker:

Diversified work. Follow prescribed methods to construct, repair, etc. benches, roofs, stock bins, foundry boards, etc. Use care to plan work in the economical use of materials; fittings and joining of work properly.

Install simple electrical equipment such as lighting fixtures, small motor; replace fuses; make minor adjustments, repairs, replacement to motors; switches, controls, extension cords, etc. Use some judgment to trouble shoot simple circuits.

Install and move simple equipment such as drill presses, bench grinders, etc., perform such miscellaneous operations as oil, grease motors, change pulleys, repair belts, make simple guards.

Use judgment to perform such operations as to test and adjust molding sands for such characteristics as fineness, permeability, bond, moisture, etc., and record findings daily; prepare molding sand and load into "molder sand supply system",, assure that sand is available when required; make minor repairs to sand system and perform daily maintenance as prescribed.

Perform such operations as to mix paint (standard colors); use care to apply paint to varied surfaces properly.

Operation of the waste water treatment system including such as making repairs and replacing piping or plumbing such as faulty faucets, drains, valves etc., cut and thread pipe to length; obtain tight joints. Test for Ph levels and constituents identified on municipal waste water permit as needed. Make minor repairs and replacement to piping or plumbing such as faulty faucets, drains, simple valves, etc., cut and thread pipe to length; obtain tight joints.

Make final preparation for hazardous waste shipments.

Perform various maintenance duties as required including to make, repair, etc., guards, pans, chutes, air ducts, exhausts, etc.

Required to patch, fill concrete floors; construct partitions; mix own cement. Perform arc, acetylene, heli-arc welding; burning, brazing soldering, etc. operations as required. Use judgment to vary technique to meet conditions, block and clamp work to avoid distortion, obtain mechanical, etc. strength.

Required to cut grass, rake leaves, etc. Use care to detect and report improper conditions to others, follow prescribed safety regulations.

Attend Annual Hazardous waste training or any regulatory training required for instruction in proper handling of maintenance waste handling of maintenance waste streams.
