Maintenance Technician / Industrial Mechanic

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician performs a wide variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair and upkeep of production CNC machines, grinders and thread rollers at the direction of the Maintenance Manager.

Repairs and maintains physical structures of commercial and industrial establishments, such as floors, walls, office buildings, and shop areas using hand tools and power tools.  Repairs and rebuilds machinery as needed to support production requirements.  Performs and is responsible for all regularly scheduled preventative maintenance for production machines and support machines as required by the annual PM schedule.

DAILY JOB FUNCTIONS may involve:

Follows Direction from Maintenance Manager on Priorities for the day & week

Turn on Air Compressor at the beginning of shift

Maintenance on gates and roll-up doors.

Performs regularly scheduled machine PM maintenance and develops new PM schedules as needed.

Align and calibrate machinery and equipment parts as required for efficient and safe operation

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed repair drawings related to equipment and machinery

Evaluates and repairs equipment

Reverse engineer replacement parts

Dis-assembles, evaluates and Rebuilds machinery

Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues/malfunctions

Monitor, Change, and Recycle water soluble cutting oils per PM schedule.

Replaces defective electrical switches and other electrical fixtures.

Paints structures, and repairs woodwork with carpenter's tools.

Repair or replace plumbing fixtures.

Repairs plaster and Walls.

Maintains and repairs sheds and other outbuildings.

Records all maintenance performed or repairs made per the following procedures:

WI-MTN-01 Preventive Maintenance

WI-MTN-02 Machine Coolants and Waste Oil

WEEKLY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs regularly scheduled weekly machine PM maintenance.

Reports all pending machine or building maintenance to appropriate managers on a regular basis

MONTHLY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Performs Fire Extinguisher Verification Check and document on all Fire Extinguisher tags

Tracks and reports Machine Downtime Metrics

Create Pareto chart with the most common causes for downtime

PERFORM AS NEEDED:

Dis-assembly and re-assembly of both CNC and Conventional Machinery.

Additional projects or improvements.

Maintain all A/C, Heat and Light timers for optimum usage.

Participate in red team meetings and safety meeting as requested.
