Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician II
Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
Summary:
Maintenance Mechanics report to the Maintenance Supervisor and are responsible for maintaining and repairing UNEX Manufacturing equipment. Other responsibilities include:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance throughout the facility
Diagnose issues and repair heavy equipment (hydraulic pumps, presses, brakes, dies, etc.)
Use skills to operate machinery and equipment safely within limitations to inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair equipment
Accurately report labor and inventory data transactions at data collection workstations
Perform other job-related duties, which may include occasional tasks outside the normal scope of the position
Comply with all applicable ISO Standards: Quality Management System, Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Standards and follow all plant policies and guidelines
Comply with all applicable OSHA standards; Ensures all equipment guards, safety devices, personal protective equipment are always in place and follows safe work procedures and safety rules
Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-2 years related experience or 3+ years equivalent of education and experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with common and specialized maintenance tools and equipment
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
Problem solving skills: Ability to diagnose issues and implement solutions
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Skilled in effectively using common and specialized maintenance tools
Ability to work with minimal supervision and effective verbal and written communication
ATTENDANCE:
Must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to attendance standards, work deadlines, beginning and ending assignments on time, and scheduled work breaks where applicable
Noise Level: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high
