Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. Your expertise will help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-functioning environment by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs across a variety of systems. Duties
Perform routine inspections of building systems including HVAC filters, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and electrical components; report findings and escalate issues as appropriate.
Complete minor repairs including drywall patching, painting, caulking, fixture replacement, door hardware, and flooring repairs.
Replace light bulbs, ballasts, and other consumable components throughout facilities.
Maintain and repair furniture, cabinetry, shelving, and other interior fixtures.
Routine landscaping maintenance including weed removal, hedge and shrub trimming, edging, pruning, and general upkeep of landscaped areas, excluding lawn mowing services.
Monitor and report on the condition of exterior areas including parking lots, entryways, signage, and landscaping concerns.
Execute a scheduled preventive maintenance program for equipment and building systems as assigned.
Change HVAC filters and perform visual inspection of mechanical systems on a scheduled basis.
Test and document emergency exit lighting, fire extinguisher placement, and other life-safety components in coordination with compliance requirements.
Maintain maintenance logs and documentation in accordance with HRSA facility compliance standards.
Ensure work activities comply with applicable OSHA standards, infection control protocols, and federal health center facility requirements.
Support preparation for HRSA site visits and operational site reviews by ensuring facilities meet required standards.
Assist with storage area organization, including proper labeling and segregation of hazardous materials.
Respond to urgent maintenance needs in a timely manner to protect patient safety and minimize service disruption.
Travel between IHCWV sites as assigned to address facility needs across the organization's locations.
Coordinate with site staff and Practice Managers to schedule and complete work with minimal disruption to clinical operations.
Communicate status of open work orders and completed tasks to the supervisor in a timely manner.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in general building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade.
Experience in a healthcare, medical, or institutional setting strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general building systems.
Ability to read and interpret work orders, maintenance manuals, and basic schematics.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks across multiple locations.
Effective verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with clinical staff and patients.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Basic computer skills for documentation and work order tracking.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required (multi-site travel required).
OSHA 10-hour General Industry certification preferred, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
Any applicable trade certifications (electrical, plumbing, HVAC) are a plus.
