Summary
The Maintenance Support Technician reports to the Operations Support Technician and learns hands-on skills
to inspect, maintain, and repair aircraft under the supervision of certified A&P mechanics, focusing on FAA regulations and detailed record-keeping, while gradually taking on more complex tasks to eventually become a qualified and certified Airframe & Powerplant mechanic.
The Scenario Actor support research and development of customer airborne and ground situations. Scenario Actors operate and maintain customer equipment in both static and dynamic scenarios within the Hagerstown, Washington, Baltimore and Tri-State area.
Essential Functions
Assist with analyzing all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches to troubleshoot, repair and install desired product or part. Detects errors and corrects through proper departmental channels.
Assist the shop with meeting schedule needs to make on-time delivery of the aircraft to support missions.
Assist certified A&P mechanics with inspecting aircraft parts for damage, prior to installation.
Assists with estimating hours and materials for scheduled jobs.
Operates all required ground support equipment.
May assist with troubleshooting and repairing aircraft and customer systems.
Assist facilities with hangar maintenance & cleaning.
Setup and operate air to ground communications equipment.
Operate and maintain customer equipment in both static and dynamic scenarios.
Operate vehicle, driving.
Prompt communication through radios, emails, text messages and phone calls.
Managing travel expenses and generating regular expense reports with accuracy.
Prompt and regular attendance.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a part-time position not to exceed 28-hours a week. Days and hours of work primarily fall between Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. However, evening and weekend shifts may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Education and Experience
One (1)year of aircraft-related experience.
Pratt & Whitney PT6.
Aircraft Movement.
Other Hiring Requirements
Valid Driver’s License.
U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain/maintain a United States Security Clearance.
Must pass a DOT/FAA regulated drug screening.
Must be able to obtain a passport.
