Maintenance Supervisor Description
Nichirei is a growing innovative company that is part of Japan's #1 Frozen Food manufacturer. We produce savory and convenient frozen food products in West Sacramento.
We are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor with at least 5 years of experience of Supervision within a Manufacturing Maintenance department. Food manufacturing is preferred.
Direct Maintenance Team by leading, instructing and assigning work assignments.
Fosters a culture that does not tolerate equipment failures and seeks to understand and eliminate the causes using techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Assist with development of a comprehensive and effective Preventative Maintenance program.
Assist in developing Maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.
Collaborate in ensuring critical spare parts are kept in inventory and establishing minimum levels and reorder quantities.
Be a coach and mentor to the Maintenance team and identify training needs.
Provide direction in technical matters and serve as a subject matter expert in mechanical, electrical and control equipment.
Ensure all work activities are completed correctly according to Company Food Safety, Safety and OSHA safety rules.
Ability to get ideas across to others both verbally and in written form
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers.
Be proactive in identifying suppliers for parts and services.
Assist in managing the Maintenance Department expenditure and alert management of potential exceptional expenditures.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs and improve safety.
Ensure the Maintenance department is organized and there is a culture of good housekeeping and 5S.
Skills:
Experience in planning maintenance activities
Ability to work with hands, mechanical aptitude and proficient use of tools
Ability to get ideas across to others both verbally and in written form
Strong understanding of industrial, mechanical and electrical technologies.
Solid understanding of facilities Maintenance.
Familiarity with automation and PLC technology
Ability to communicate with colleagues and vendors/contractors both verbally and in writing.
Organized and detail orientated.
Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
Ability to identify alternative solutions when faced with unforeseen situations.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – Excel, Word and Outlook
Experience in Lean Manufacturing Principles.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in reliability and maintenance management
Food manufacturing experience – frozen food production a plus
Previous experience with use of a CMMS system.
Knowledge of regulatory standards including USDA, FDA, OSHA & HACCP
Valid Driver’s License
High School diploma or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Salary: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

Schedule: 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday. Flexibility for off-shift and weekend work is expected as required.
