Job description:
The S&R Group is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager for our Seniors Living Home in Sarnia. We are looking for an experienced professional to oversee building maintenance operations, coordinate unit turns and vendors, manage budgets and health & safety compliance, and support a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for residents and staff.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinates work with Management and other home staff
• Manages timelines and the work of unit turns, and the inventory and/or supplies related to maintenance
• General maintenance and upkeep of building including plumbing repairs, heating and cooling systems, electrical repairs, plaster, painting and other duties
• Moves non-resident and resident furniture within the Home
• Manages and/or is aware of the Maintenance Budget
• Works effectively with a multi-disciplinary team
• Coordinates the Health and Safety Program

Qualifications:
• “Hands-on, working” experience with Building Maintenance Services
• General and periodic maintenance skills – unit turns and basic equipment maintenance
• Capable of using a wide variety of tools and equipment of the trade
• Coordination of special projects, identifying problems and solutions, and securing quotes
• Experience in Seniors Living (retirement) and/or a Hospitality environment
• Experience in being part of a “Leadership Team”
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with vendors, staff and residents
• Must be available for Emergency “Call-in’s” working every other weekend
• Experience and/or satisfactory working knowledge of H&S, OHS and the RHRA
