🕒 12-Day Rotating Shift Pattern | Full-Time - Permanent

Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer ready to take on a dynamic, field-based role in the rail freight sector?

Join a team that keeps the UK’s freight wagons moving with precision, safety, and speed. As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll respond to call-outs, perform scheduled maintenance, and ensure wagons are safe, reliable, and ready for action.

What You’ll Do:

✅ Diagnose and repair faults on freight wagons

✅ Respond to emergencies including derailments and brake issues

✅ Carry out inspections and scheduled maintenance

✅ Support technical operations during on-call hours

✅ Collaborate with terminal staff and train operators

What You’ll Bring:

🔩 NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

🚗 Full UK driving licence

🧠 Fault-finding and repair experience

💬 Strong communication and IT skills

🕐 Willingness to work unsociable hours and travel

Desirable Extras:

📘 HNC/HND or NVQ Level 4

🚆 Knowledge of brake systems, couplers, and running gear

🎓 PTS or equivalent site access certification

🛠️ Full training (12–16 weeks), tools, and PPE provided.

👥 Work in a supportive team of two during on-call shifts.
