Position Summary
The Maintenance Control Manager (MX Controller) is responsible for the real-time coordination, control, and oversight of aircraft maintenance events to ensure fleet safety, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity. This role serves as the central point of contact between flight operations, maintenance vendors, internal teams, and leadership.
The ideal candidate is decisive, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced aviation environment where safety and reliability are non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for all active maintenance events and Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations
Coordinate unscheduled and scheduled maintenance with internal teams and approved vendors
Ensure all maintenance actions comply with FAA regulations, Part 135 requirements, and company policies
Authorize maintenance releases and coordinate return-to-service activities
Communicate aircraft status updates clearly to Operations, Scheduling, and Leadership
Review maintenance discrepancies, MELs, and deferrals for operational impact
Track and document maintenance events accurately within company systems
Support continuous improvement of maintenance control processes and response efficiency
Qualifications
5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience (Part 135 and Citation X a must)
Strong understanding of FAA regulations and maintenance control procedures
A&P certificate preferred (or equivalent maintenance background)
Experience managing AOG events and high-pressure operational scenarios
Excellent communication, decision-making, and organizational skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call support as needed
