Mail Processing Clerk (Part-Time Contract)

Job Summary

SmithRx is seeking a part-time contractor to support our mailroom during the busy season (through end of April). This position will 20 hours per week based on our onsite at our office in Lehi, Utah.

In this role you will:

• Mail Receipt and Sorting:

• Receive, open (where appropriate), date stamp, and meticulously sort all incoming mail, packages, and deliveries (USPS, FedEx, UPS, inter-office, etc.).

• Sort mail based on established departmental codes, recipient names, or pre-defined categories with high accuracy.

• Documentation and Logging:

• Maintain a detailed and accurate log of all accountable mail (certified, registered, express, and high-value packages) including sender, recipient, time of receipt, and tracking number.

• Utilize internal systems or spreadsheets to digitally document incoming mail and assign relevant internal tracking identifiers.

• Distribution Preparation:

• Bundle and prepare sorted mail for prompt internal distribution to various departments or individuals.

• Process and sort misdirected or undeliverable mail according to established procedures.

• Compliance:

• Adhere to all company policies and security procedures regarding mail handling and sensitive documents.

About you:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience: 1+ years previous experience in a clerical, administrative, or mailroom setting is preferred.

• Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus and accuracy in sorting, counting, and logging information.

• Organizational Skills: Excellent ability to maintain an organized workspace and follow systematic procedures.

• Reliability: Proven ability to be punctual and maintain a consistent work schedule.

• Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and move mail tubs or boxes weighing up to 25 lbs (occasionally).

• Technical: Basic proficiency with computer systems (e.g., Microsoft Office/Google Suite) for logging and documentation.
