Avery Dennison is a global leader in materials science, and our Mt. Prospect team is looking for a Machine Operator to drive production excellence. If you are mechanically inclined, curious about how things work, and take pride in delivering high-quality results, you will thrive in our facility.
What You’ll Do (The Day-to-Day) As a Technical Pilot of our equipment, you will support our embossing, sealing, or inspection departments. Your mission is to ensure operational uptime and zero-defect quality.
• Operate & Monitor: Set up and run machinery using Six Sigma procedures and continuous monitoring devices.
• Quality Control: Read photometric samples and make critical decisions to ensure every product meets our high standards.
• Troubleshoot: Take initiative to find root causes of malfunctions rather than applying "band-aid" fixes.
• Collaborate: Work cross-functionally to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workplace.
Shift & Pay
• Current Opening: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Mon-Fri).
• Training: Must be available for initial training on 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM).
• Pay: $21.58/hr + $2/hr Shift Differential
• Overtime: Regularly available to support our customer focus.
Who You Are (Qualifications)
• Experienced: High School Diploma/GED OR 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using computer applications for production flow and data entry.
• Detail-Oriented: Able to follow complex SOPs and measure close tolerances.
• Team Player: You prioritize "Team Before Self" and communicate openly to reach common goals.
• Physical Agility: Ability to lift 50 lbs and remain active throughout your shift
