Machine Learning Engineering Intern (f/m/d)

We are seeking a Machine Learning Engineering Intern to join our fast-growing Data Science & ML team for 6 months in a fulltime capacity. The targeted start date is March 2026 and since we value long-term growth, exceptional performance during the internship may lead to an offer for a permanent role. In this role, you’ll help build, optimize, and maintain the Python pipelines that power training data generation and FEM simulations for our quantum sensing technology. Your work will enable our ML team to rapidly prototype new ideas and validate models. This internship is an opportunity to work hands-on at the intersection of simulation, machine learning, and cutting-edge quantum sensor development.

What will you do:
• Contribute to the development and integration of training data generation pipelines and the corresponding post-processing.
• Deep dive into FEM simulation and python script automation.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers on Python codebases for our deep learning projects.
• Assist in testing, debugging, and improving the reliability of our ML codebase.
• Contribute to documentation, version control, and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions).
• Learn to understand the pitfalls and challenges of using deep learning for our cutting-edge technology.

What is expected of you:
• You are willing and able to join us for 6 months starting March 2026 in full time.
• You are a student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• You have programming experience in Python and/or C++.
• You are eager to learn about the physics involved in our projects and building well-written ML codebases.
• You bring a hands-on, proactive mindset and enjoy solving complex technical problems.
• You enjoy working closely with a multidisciplinary team on-site in Munich.
