Jammie’s Environmental, Inc. (“JEI”) is the preferred company to call when our customers - which include public sector and some of the largest manufacturers in the PNW - have an industrial cleaning, hydro-blasting, vacuum excavation or hazardous/non-hazardous waste cleanup need.

We are seeking a Lube Technician (full-time) to support fleet maintenance in our Longview, WA shop. The Lube Technician performs basic preventative maintenance on company vehicles, heavy equipment, and fleet assets to support safe and efficient operations. This role will have a heavy emphasis on lubrication, including greasing and oil changes, as well as driving to pick up and drop off parts and equipment as needed.
This position is safety-sensitive and subject to federal regulation by the Department of Transportation (DOT). For more information, see “Safety-Sensitive & Drug/Alcohol Testing” section below.
Competitive hourly compensation commensurate with experience. The pay range for this role is $24-$28 per hour. While starting pay is typically closer to the beginning of the pay range, actual pay within the range is based on qualifications and experience.
What You’ll Do
Perform preventative maintenance including lubrication and greasing, oil changes, filter replacement, fluid checks and refills, and inspection, replacement, and testing of required lights and reflectors
Act as parts runner, driving to drop off and pick up parts and equipment as needed
Look for and report on any leaks found
Ensure windshield wipers are not missing, damaged, or inoperable
Inspect windshields for cracks, discoloration, obstacles, etc.
Conduct inspections and identify general mechanical or safety concerns
Maintain work orders, service records, and inspection logs
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work area
Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the U.S. JEI does not currently sponsor employment visas.
Must have high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience
Must have a valid driver's license
Ability to satisfy lawful pre-employment, periodic, and ongoing screenings, including background (criminal, work experience, educational, reference checks, motor vehicle/driving record, DOT Clearinghouse, etc.) and DOT-regulated drug/alcohol testing (includes testing for marijuana THC) where permitted by law. Must be able to gain TWIC card.
Ability to utilize basic vehicle maintenance equipment such as grease guns, screwdrivers, wrenches, hand drills, etc.
Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed
Ability to perform successfully while working independently as well as within teams
Must be able to display motivation and self-initiation
Ability to accurately apply basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to wear required PPE and follow all company policies and practices
Must have a mechanical aptitude and be solution-oriented with ability to apply critical thinking skills and solve problems
Must apply and maintain attention to detail and be able to follow verbal and written instructions
Must be safety-focused, dependable, reliable, and responsible
Must be a self-starter, show motivation in their work, and be willing and able to develop and grow
Must be adaptable and flexible to various environments, people, and application of how we approach and perform work.
Vocational training in automotive technology (preferred but not required)
Safety-Sensitive & Drug/Alcohol Testing
All JEI employees who perform work in field operations, visit or perform work at job sites, or operate a company vehicle are considered to be in a safety-sensitive, DOT-regulated position and are required to complete and pass DOT-regulated drug screenings for pre-employment and post-employment screenings, including ongoing random drug pool testing (occurs company-wide as frequently as monthly), post-accident/incident, return to work, follow-up, and reasonable suspicion. DOT-regulated drug screenings test for marijuana (THC) as well as other controlled substances, and a positive result, refusal to test/retest, or refusal to complete testing is considered a failed test. A failed test, refusal to test, or violation of Company policy may result in withdrawal of offer, disqualification from employment, termination, and reporting to the DOT Clearinghouse as required by law. Failed tests and violation records are kept on record with the DOT Clearinghouse and may be visible to potential employers for five (5) years or until a Return-to-Duty process and follow-up testing plan have been completed successfully, whichever is later.

Employees may be required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and work in confined spaces or at varying heights for extended periods of time. Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling tools and equipment is required, along with the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment consistent with the physical demands of the role. Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
This position regularly works in and around commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, moving mechanical parts, tools, equipment, hazardous materials, and other potentially dangerous environments. Work is performed in indoor shop settings, outdoor environments, and industrial or customer job sites, with frequent exposure to varying weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, ice, wind, humidity, and direct sunlight. Employees may be exposed to noise levels typical of automotive repair and maintenance facilities, including loud or constant noise from engines, pneumatic tools, machinery, and equipment. The role may involve exposure to oils, lubricants, fuels, exhaust fumes, solvents, chemicals, dust, dirt, grease, and other airborne particles.
Use of required personal protective equipment (“PPE”), such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, protective footwear, and other safety gear, is mandatory based on the task and work environment. Employees must comply with all company safety rules, OSHA regulations, DOT regulations where applicable, and safe work practices at all times.
