We are currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our clinical team, working a 2/3 block schedule and 12-hour shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles plays a vital role in providing compassionate, high-quality care to patients with mental and behavioral health needs while supporting a safe and therapeutic environment. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LPN assists in delivering both medical and behavioral healthcare services that promote patient stability, comfort, and recovery.
In this role, LPNs administer medications and treatments, monitor and document patient conditions, obtain vital signs, and assist with daily patient care activities. They closely observe patient behaviors and medical status, promptly communicating any changes or concerns to the nursing and clinical team to ensure continuity of care and effective treatment planning.
LPNs at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles also provide emotional support, encouragement, and therapeutic interaction to patients throughout their treatment journey. By building trust and maintaining professional, compassionate communication, they play an important role in supporting patient progress and overall well-being.
This position requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care. The ideal candidate is dependable, compassionate, and committed to making a positive impact as an essential member of the Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles healthcare team.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Certification from approved Practical Nursing Program
License: Licensed as an LPN to practice in the State of Louisiana.
Experience: One-year LPN experience is preferred. Previous experience with behavioral health and geriatrics is strongly preferred.
