Job Title: Low Voltage Service / Installation Technician

Position Overview:

As a Low Voltage Service / Installation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, servicing and programming our customized security, access control, data and/or fire alarm offerings.

Essential Position Functions:

Effectively manages time on installations, staying on or below budgeted man-hours for each project.

Effectively performs installations on multiple projects and provides weekly updates to the Supervisor and/or Account Manager.

Works closely with scheduling coordinator to ensure projects are completed on or before assigned deadlines.

Works with contractors and/or customers to identify any and all necessary change orders. Then presents this information to the Supervisor and/or Account Manager.

Communicates effectively in visual, oral and written form.

Demonstrates ability to cope with stress and maintain a pleasant and cooperative temperament with internal and external customers.

Promotes collaboration, partnerships and positive long lasting relationships with customers.

Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending improvements.

Maintains customer confidence by keeping customer information confidential.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications. 

Continually enforces safety to the highest standards.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Must pass background check and have a valid driver’s license.

Low Voltage Systems (Card Access, Video, Fire Alarm, and Intrusion) related experience.

Minnesota Power Limited Technician License preferred.

Demonstrates excellent problem solving and negotiating skills.

Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Grasp on current market conditions and product trends.

Ability to operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Great written as well as verbal communication skills.
