Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support daily transportation, inventory, and supply chain operations. This role will coordinate shipments, manage documentation, and ensure accurate inventory tracking while working closely with vendors, warehouses, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Transportation & Shipment Coordination
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with carriers and 3PL warehouses
Schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring on-time performance
Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
Communicate with trucking vendors regarding rates, availability, and updates
2. Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and review shipping documents (BOL, packing list, invoices)
Support import/export documentation (commercial invoice, customs clearance, etc.)
Ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate shipment records and filing systems
3. Inventory Control
Monitor inventory levels across warehouses
Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation
Investigate and resolve discrepancies (shortages, overages)
Maintain accurate system records (ERP / inventory daily log)
4. Vendor & Warehouse Coordination
Work closely with 3PL warehouses to ensure smooth operations
Communicate shipment schedules and inventory updates
Support vendor performance tracking (on-time delivery, cost, service quality)
5. Reporting & Data Management
Update daily shipment and inventory reports
Maintain logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, cost tracking)
Assist with data analysis to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Qualifications
Education
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred but not mandatory)
Experience
1–3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations
Experience working with customs brokerage companies, carriers, 3PLs, or freight forwarders is an asset
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good understanding of shipping documents (BOL, invoices, etc.)
Basic knowledge of import/export processes is an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic to intermediate)
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle urgent requests
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
Experience with ERP or TMS systems
Familiarity with Incoterms and customs procedures
Exposure to cross-border (Canada–U.S.) logistics
Knowledge of inventory control processes
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
On-time shipment performance
Inventory accuracy
Documentation accuracy and compliance
Response time to logistics issues
Cost efficiency (freight and handling)
