Job Description
The Logistics Manager is a senior operations role responsible for end-to-end supply chain execution across multiple business entities. You will own inventory health, inbound procurement coordination, Amazon FBA compliance, and the implementation and adoption of the company’s ERP/WMS platform.
Reporting directly to the COO, the Logistics Manager leads the logistics team and serves as the operational bridge between demand planning and production/fulfillment operations. This fully remote role requires strong systems thinking, cross-entity coordination, and a proactive ownership mentality in a high-growth e-commerce environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management & Stock Level Optimization
• Maintain optimal stock levels across all SKUs (scaling from 180+ to 500+) for Amazon FBA, TikTok, and D2C fulfillment.
• Own inventory health metrics: IPI score, stranded inventory, aged inventory, restock limits, and sell-through rates.
• Develop reorder point (ROP) and safety stock models, factoring lead times, seasonal demand, and supplier variability.
• Coordinate with Brand Managers and Product Development for new SKU launches and marketplace readiness.
Inbound Procurement & Supplier Coordination
• Execute purchase orders across multiple entities, managing procurement and production POs.
• Coordinate inbound logistics: domestic trucking, import customs, and carriers to minimize lead times and costs.
• Maintain supplier relationships, ensuring delivery timelines, quality, and documentation compliance.
• Track and reconcile inbound shipments against POs, escalating discrepancies to the COO/Controller.
Production & Fulfillment Collaboration
• Serve as primary logistics interface with production facilities, coordinating scheduling, raw materials, and outbound flow.
• Manage handoff between production and fulfillment, ensuring POs meet committed windows.
• Collaborate on raw materials, packaging inventory, and production capacity to prevent bottlenecks.
• Escalate cross-entity coordination issues with proposed resolutions.
ERP/WMS Implementation & Systems Ownership
• Lead the logistics workstream for ERP/WMS implementation (e.g., Fulfil.io), ensuring accurate configuration of inventory, POs, and fulfillment workflows.
• Own logistics data integrity: SKU master data, supplier records, open POs, and inbound shipments.
• Define and document SOPs for all logistics functions within the ERP.
• Train logistics team and cross-functional stakeholders; serve as internal SME post go-live.
Amazon FBA Compliance & Channel Fulfillment
• Manage Amazon FBA shipment creation, labeling, and compliance.
• Monitor FBA prep standards, hazmat requirements, and product-specific packaging rules.
• Manage restock limits and utilization rates to prevent ASIN suppression.
• Coordinate with Brand Managers on FBA listing issues with logistics dependencies.
Team Leadership & Management
• Lead and hold accountable the logistics team (2–5 people) and future hires.
• Set clear KPIs, conduct 1:1s, and performance reviews.
• Identify team gaps and address via hiring, training, or automation.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Budget & Cost Management
• Own logistics operating budget: freight, FBA fees, prep costs, 3PL expenses.
• Track spend vs. budget, reporting variances and corrective actions.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising service levels.
• Manage 3PL and carrier relationships, negotiating rates and agreements.
Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Provide weekly updates to COO on inventory, inbound pipeline, FBA health, and escalations.
• Collaborate with Controller on inventory reconciliation and month-end support.
• Partner with Brand Managers, Product Development, and Sales on demand forecasting and promotional inventory planning.
• Participate in EOS L10 meetings and quarterly planning sessions.
Requirements:
Skills & Proficiencies
• Deep knowledge of Amazon Seller Central logistics: FBA shipment management, IPI optimization, restock limits, compliance.
• Hands-on ERP/WMS experience (Fulfil.io, NetSuite, Cin7, Odoo, or equivalent); implementation experience preferred.
• Advanced inventory planning, demand forecasting, and supply chain analytics.
• Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills; BI tools a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote teams and cross-facility coordination.
• Leadership experience managing a 2–5 person logistics team.
Experience
• 5+ years in logistics, supply chain, or operations management in e-commerce.
• Proven experience managing Amazon FBA operations at scale.
• Multi-entity or multi-facility logistics coordination.
• ERP/WMS implementation experience.
• Inbound freight, vendor management, and multi-channel fulfillment experience.
Mindset & Leadership
• Ownership mentality; proactive problem-solving.
• Strategic, critical thinker; able to design scalable processes and SOPs.
• Comfortable in fast-paced, high-growth environments with evolving priorities.
• Thrives in remote settings; strong self-management and async communication.
• Collaborative; works constructively across departments and facilities.
