Onsite | Full-Time | Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Log Auditor to join our team. In this role, you’ll ensure our owner-operators remain compliant with federal Hours-of-Service (HOS) regulations, while coaching and supporting drivers to improve performance. Your work plays a direct role in protecting Mercer’s safety rating, compliance standards, and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do
Audit driver daily records of duty status (logs) for violations of Federal HOS regulations and Mercer policies
Discuss hours-of-service violations with drivers and provide coaching to improve compliance
Train new drivers on Mercer’s log requirements and re-orient drivers with recurring violations
Troubleshoot and educate drivers on using truck-mounted electronic logging device (ELD) and dash cameras
Answer driver questions about logs, violation letters, or other compliance issues
Train newly hired Log Auditors on policies and procedures
Enter new driver information and cancellations into the Omnitracs/Solera systems
Process faxed logs in emergency situations
Review violation letters and update Check Call to alert Truck Coordinators
Manage and mail supplies for drivers and contractors
Essential Skills and Experience
Preferred 1 year of clerical or administrative experience, including customer service, data entry, and organizational coordination
Working knowledge of U.S. geography
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing data
Active listening skills with the ability to explain complex compliance rules clearly
Proficiency with computers, including data entry, multi-line phone systems, and office equipment
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
High School Diploma or equivalent
On-Call Requirement: This position participates in an overnight on-call rotation, including weekends.
