Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Dispensary Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the Dispensary Manager and Deputy Dispensary Manager in the day-to-day operations of the dispensary, ensuring efficient workflow, compliance with procedures, and high-quality patient care. You will also act as an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT), contributing to safe and accurate dispensing services.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Dispensary Manager and Deputy Manager in managing daily dispensary operations, including workload organisation and staff supervision.
• Deputise for the Dispensary Manager or Deputy in their absence, ensuring smooth running of services and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain effective stock control, minimise waste, and promote medicine reuse where appropriate.
• Accurately dispense prescriptions and provide ACPT services in line with policy.
• Respond to queries from healthcare professionals and patients, escalating to a pharmacist when necessary.
• Investigate stock discrepancies and report incidents in accordance with procedures.
• Ensure dispensary KPI targets are met and workflow is managed efficiently.
• Conduct staff induction and training sessions as required.
• Oversee safe management of controlled drugs within the dispensary.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and suggest enhancements to processes.
Qualifications & Experience
• Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC.
• Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification.
• Previous experience in a hospital or large dispensary setting.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
