Position: Accommodation Porter

Purpose:
To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout all guest and staff areas of the hotel, contributing to an outstanding experience for our guests and a positive, efficient workplace for the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Guest Rooms & Public Areas

Clean assigned guest rooms, bathrooms, balconies, corridors, and public/leisure areas to the highest standards using approved materials and equipment.

Replenish guestroom amenities and supplies as per departmental standards.

Provide turn-down service when required.

Maintain service trolleys and ensure hallways and public spaces are clear and clutter-free.

Operational Support

Collect and distribute supplies, linen, and guest items as directed.

Service tea/coffee-making facilities and manage guest laundry services efficiently and professionally.

Assist with meeting room set-ups and related duties as needed.

Assist in moving and removing food and beverage items, such as crockery and glassware, to the kitchen.

Standards & Compliance

Present for duty in full uniform, including name badge, maintaining high personal hygiene.

Complete hourly bathroom checks and sign-off sheets.

Report lost and found property and maintenance issues following departmental procedures.

Adhere to all cleaning schedules and SOPs, including vacuuming, dusting, and corridor maintenance.

Training & Communication

Participate in all required training, including daily '15-minute' standards sessions.

Attend departmental meetings and participate in job chats and appraisals.

Be familiar with all policies in the Company Staff Handbook and departmental SOP manual.

Promote hotel services by having full knowledge of facilities and their operating hours.

HEALTH & SAFETY

Fulfil all responsibilities under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1989 and any amendments.

Maintain tidy, hazard-free work areas and report all risks, damage, or incidents.

Be aware of first-aid procedures, trained personnel, and the location of safety equipment.

Participate in fire drills and safety training as directed.

Contribute to the Health & Safety Committee and attend monthly meetings where applicable.

Assist with responsibilities across departments as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations.
