Life Skills Coach Job Description - PT w/ potential for FT
General Summary: The Life Skills Coach (LSC) responsibilities include facilitating and supporting the acquisition and maintenance of skill development in adult learners using behavior analytic principles and strategies. The LSC assists the Director of Adult Life Skills in identifying, planning, developing, and implementing individualized instructional programming, including motivational systems and behavior support procedures. The LSC participates in Individual Support Plan (ISP) and inter-agency meetings as appropriate. In addition, LSC responsibilities include daily data collection, data analysis, and daily progress note writing.
*This position is part-time (i.e., approximately 28 hours per week with the potential to move to full-time (i.e., 30 or more hours per week).
Supervised by: Director of Adult Life Skills
A. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Implements instructional programming for adult learners based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
2. Daily transport of adult learners to scheduled activities (personal vehicle required)
3. Assists in progress monitoring by collecting data as assigned
4. Prepares necessary instructional materials for programming
5. Contributes to ISP process
6. Writes daily progress notes
7. Attends and participates in:
i. Ongoing training and supervision
ii. Regular staff meetings
iii. Relevant training workshop
8. Other duties as assigned
B. Education/Experience
1. Minimum of one-year experience providing services to adults with developmental delays preferred
2. Minimum of one-year experience utilizing applied behavior analysis preferred
3. Bachelor’s degree preferred
C. Requirements
1. Must have current automobile insurance – refer to the Motor Vehicle Policy
2. Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record – refer to the Motor Vehicle Policy
3. Must have current state motor registration – refer to the Motor Vehicle Policy
4. Must have PA State Police, FBI and Child Abuse clearances
5. Required for all new hires: A Physical and TB test with results and every other year thereafter
6. Must have CPR/First Aid/AED certifications
7. Must be able to be on feet and active throughout the day
8. Must be responsible with strong communication skills and work ethic
