The Life Enrichment Manager leads and supports the life enrichment team in creating meaningful, engaging experiences for our senior community. This role ensures compliance with Country Manor standards and Minnesota Department of Health requirements while fostering a vibrant environment that promotes connection, purpose, and joy.
The Life Enrichment Manager is responsible for developing and expanding life enrichment opportunities, including monthly calendars, daily activities, and social programming tailored to the unique interests and needs of our residents. This position partners with residents and families to address questions or concerns and helps identify preferred social opportunities that enhance quality of life.
Additionally, this role oversees the Assisted Living volunteer program, providing development and supervision, and leads the planning and execution of special events and excursions that enrich the community experience.
Qualifications:
Post HS degree along with experience working directly with geriatric population.
Possess a genuine interest in geriatrics, physically challenged or psychosocially impaired persons and must be willing to work closely with all residents in an effort to make each individual’s life more satisfying, interesting, meaningful, and useful.
Must be energetic and show initiative toward the program, finding new and innovative ideas to share and implement them using available resources.
Must display a great deal of patience, consideration and tact when dealing with residents, families, visitors, and community members.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively both in written and verbal context.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated computer skills.
Proficiency with clerical skills (typing, filing), basic bookkeeping skills and computer skills.
Must be able to work independently & use independent judgment when making decisions.
Responsibilities:
Supervise life enrichment staff.
Develop and prepare monthly life enrichment calendars and newsletters.
Must exercise discretion and use conflict resolution when responding to resident and family concerns.
Control process when completing necessary paperwork and orientate new residents and families.
Develop annual social program budget and track expenses and monitor supplies.
Monitor attendance and participation.
Facilitate decorating of designated areas i.e. seasonal and various approved themes
Maintain/coordinate a schedule of lounge and common area reservations within Country Villa.
Supervise the volunteer program through recruitment, orientation, and scheduling of volunteers for various programs within the Assisted Living Neighborhoods.
Assist in monitoring any noticed change of status of residents and communicate issues of concern that are observed to the RN Case Manager.
Lead Resident Council Meetings. Encourage involvement from all tenants; communicate issues/concerns raised to the Senior Housing Operations Manager.
Maintain positive working relationships with other departments.
Coordinate the distribution and collection of resident surveys and various communication newsletters.
Support the goals and vision of the department.
Design and control organizational system for tracking inventory and supplies of department
Maintain physical environment and equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
Monitor and comply with all pertinent regulatory requirements.
Participate with on-call rotation within the department.
Other duties as assigned.
