What You'll Do:

As a key team member of our team at The Dunfield, you will be responsible for:

Inspiring and motivating residents to participate in programs and excursions.

Organizing and coordinating activities for active daily living of our resident population.

Developing and implementing unique, meaningful, personalized programs for a growing senior’s residence that breaks the status quo of typical retirement activities.

Providing activities orientation to new residents.

Updating Resident’s birthday list, on a monthly basis.

Planning our quarterly “Meet and Greet”.

Acting as the go to person on various resident led Committees Groups.

Supporting Activities assistant on Memory Care with daily programs.

Assisting with creating a monthly calendar of events on a tight timeline.

Improving the intellectual and physical health of the residents.

Identifying the interests of the resident population to tailor programs around these desires.

Assisting with escorting residents to and from activities both on and off site.

Maintaining a clean and organized activities environment and supply room.

Documenting daily attendance, progress notes and departmental observations.

Developing & maintaining a rapport with staff, residents, resident families and volunteers.

Who You Are:

You are an enthusiastic and creative individual with a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of older adults. To succeed in this role, you'll bring: 

A Diploma in Activation / Recreation Therapy and fitness background an asset.

1+ years experience working with older adults an asset.

A natural ability to teach, lead, and inspire groups of people.

Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.

A flexible and positive attitude, comfortable with changing priorities and able to thrive under pressure to meet resident expectations.

Competency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Publisher, Word, and PowerPoint.

Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with a professional and outgoing personality. You're comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Compensation Package: $23 CAD per hour + discretionary bonus eligibility
