Life Enrichment Associate
Full-Time ~ Monday - Friday ~ 9:00am-5:30pm ~ No Scheduled Weekends or Holidays
What will your days look like? You will spend your days with residents/patients doing everything from singing, dancing, baking, chatting, crafting, reading, going on walks, at patio parties, enjoying visits from Kids Country students, going out on off-campus excursions to places like the bowling alley, shopping mall, sporting events, theatres, restaurants, and so much more. The Life Enrichment Associate supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of engaging programs and activities designed to meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of Country Manor residents/patients, with a primary focus on those in the Rapid Recovery facility.
Working under the direction of the Activities Director, this position collaborates closely with interdisciplinary team members to ensure activities are aligned with resident/patient interests, abilities, and care plans. As a Life Enrichment Associate, you'll get to know each of our uniquely wonderful residents/patients and develop/host activities (small group and 1:1) that cater to their personal interests, hobbies, and life experiences.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Conduct initial assessments and interviews with residents/patients to evaluate therapeutic recreation (TR) needs.
2. Develop individualized TR care plans based on assessments and resident/patient interests.
3. Document assessments, care plans, attendance, and progress notes; communicate updates to TR team and
interdisciplinary staff.
4. Monitor and support TR staff to ensure care plans are implemented appropriately.
5. Assist in the development and coordination of therapeutic recreation programs, events, and monthly activity
calendars.
6. Provide 1:1 visits and individualized engagement for residents/patients who are unable or prefer not to attend group
activities.
7. Conduct TR audits and ensure compliance with quality standards.
8. Coordinate and support special events in collaboration with the Activities Director and Volunteer Coordinator.
9. Present documentation to Social Services in preparation for care conferences.
10. Support the mission and values of HOMETOWN and Country Manor Campus.
11. Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma required; a four-year degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a health-related field is preferred.
2. Demonstrated interest in working with older adults and individuals with physical or cognitive challenges.
3. Energetic, creative, and able to contribute ideas for engaging, resident/patient-centered programs.
4. Willing and able to work closely with residents/patients to enhance their quality of life through meaningful activities.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to interact effectively with residents/patients, families, visitors, and
staff.
6. Able to foster positive working relationships across all departments within the organization.
7. Commitment to upholding the company’s philosophy, policies, and procedures.
8. Capable of meeting the physical and emotional demands of the role, including standing, walking, and assisting
with activities; reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.
9. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
10. Willingness to learn and use basic computer skills required for documentation and program planning
