AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a Licensed Prosthetist / Orthotist to support patient care services in Nanuet, NY. This role focuses on evaluating patient needs, designing custom orthotic and prosthetic solutions, and guiding individuals through the fitting and rehabilitation process.
The ideal candidate combines clinical expertise with strong patient communication skills and a commitment to improving mobility and quality of life. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with patients, healthcare providers, and rehabilitation teams to deliver high-quality orthotic and prosthetic care.
Responsibilities
• Evaluate patients to determine appropriate prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans
• Design, measure, and fit custom prosthetic and orthotic devices
• Adjust and modify devices to ensure comfort, functionality, and proper alignment
• Educate patients on device use, care, and maintenance
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records
• Monitor patient progress and perform follow-up adjustments as needed
• Stay current with advancements in prosthetic and orthotic technologies and clinical best practices
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards
Requirements:
• Certification and licensure as a Prosthetist/Orthotist or Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO)
• Degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics or a related field from an accredited program
• Experience evaluating patients and fitting orthotic and prosthetic devices
• Strong understanding of biomechanics, gait analysis, and rehabilitation principles
• Ability to interpret physician prescriptions and clinical documentation
• Excellent patient communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and documentation abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Preferred Experience
• Experience working in outpatient prosthetics and orthotics clinics
• Familiarity with advanced prosthetic component technologies
• Experience with pediatric or complex prosthetic cases
• Knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) systems
