LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE - DAY SHIFT

We are currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our clinical team on the day shift (6:45 a.m.–7:00 p.m.), working a 2/3 block schedule.

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Freedom Behavioral Lake Charles provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, supporting both the medical and behavioral health needs of each patient.

In this role, the LPN administers medications, monitors patient conditions, documents observations, and helps carry out individualized care plans. They assist patients with daily activities, contribute to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment, and closely watch for any changes in behavior or symptoms, communicating updates to the treatment team.

LPNs also play an important part in patient interaction—offering support and encouragement and helping reinforce positive coping skills. Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach are essential to providing safe, effective care in a mental health setting.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

Education: Certification from approved Practical Nursing Program 

License: Licensed as an LPN to practice in the State of Louisiana. 

Experience: One-year LPN experience is preferred. Previous experience with behavioral health and geriatrics is strongly preferred.
