Job Description

About Us:

At Child & Family Development (C&FD), early career clinicians find the support, structure, and mentorship needed to build a strong, confident foundation in pediatric outpatient counseling. Established in 1980, C&FD is Charlotte’s longest-standing private pediatric therapy provider, offering a collaborative, multidisciplinary model of care.

Our team includes Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Educational Specialists, Psychologists, Counselors, and ABA professionals—all supported by an exceptional client services team.

As a newer clinician, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills alongside experienced providers, participate in training and case consultation, and grow your expertise in play-based therapy and parent–child interventions.

What Sets Us Apart:

Clinical supervision for NC licensure (LCMHC) provided at no cost.

Structured opportunities for learning, mentorship, and early career development.

Hands-on experience working alongside senior counselors, psychologists, and interdisciplinary providers.

Opportunities to explore specialization in areas such as play therapy, neurodivergent psychoeducation, clinical interventions, social skills groups, or parent–child relational work.

Newly designed therapy spaces and a robust library of clinical materials.

Administrative support for referrals, scheduling, authorizations, billing, and claims.

W2 employment with clear pathways for professional and income growth.

In-office and telehealth treatment options.

A long-standing reputation for high-quality, child-centered care.

We offer a Base Salary + Billable Hour compensation model designed to give clinicians both stability and room to grow. Full-time clinicians receive a dependable base salary set at 75% of anticipated earnings, with additional pay for each billable hour above a set threshold, based on experience. All indirect work—documentation, meetings, trainings—is already covered by your salary. This model provides predictable income while rewarding the high-quality care you deliver.

Responsibilities Include:

Provide individual, play-based, and group therapy for children, adolescents, and parents under ongoing supervision.

Deliver evidence-based interventions while refining case conceptualization and documentation skills.

Participate in weekly supervision, group consultation, and team meetings.

Collaborate with psychologists, educational specialists, and rehabilitation therapists to support integrated care.

Communicate with caregivers to support family involvement and reinforce therapeutic progress.

Contribute to treatment planning, goal development, and progress monitoring.

Engage in professional development, in-house training, and continuing education aligned with your growth goals.

Benefits Include:

Strong income potential.

Base salary with additional earning potential for billable hours.

Comprehensive benefit package with employer contribution.

401(k) Plan with an employer match.

$500 sign on/retention bonus.

Professional Development benefit.
