Position Title: Physicist Level I
Reports to: Physics Manager

Position summary:
This Physicist Level I position provides support to senior imaging scientists, working hands-on with released products and benchtop R&D setups. This role is responsible for executing end-to-end workflows on Leo Cancer Care products, collecting and organizing imaging data, running quantitative post processing image analysis, and assisting with routine system checks and troubleshooting.
You will work closely with physics, engineering, and software teams to help maintain consistent image quality, support product development, and enable efficient and systematic experimental imaging studies.
Key responsibilities:
Setup and run x-ray scans on both product and research imaging systems
Help develop procedures and protocols for scanning image quality phantoms
Perform basic image review while identifying and documenting potential scan issues
Collect and analyze imaging data throughout the reconstruction process
Coordinate with all stakeholders to schedule scanner time and ensure test readiness
Assist physicists, image scientists, and engineers with debugging by reproducing issues, collecting logs, and performing controlled test scans
Support safe operation adhering to radiation safety and electrical safety best practices
Relevant Knowledge and Skill requirements:
B.S in Physics, Medical Physics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or experience in a hands-on technical lab
Comfort working with hardware and software in an environment where x-ray images will be readily produced
Ability to learn new tools quickly and efficiently
Strong attention to detail and documentation
Ability to lift and accurately position phantoms during experimental studies
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with medical imaging and clinical workflows
Familiarity with basic image quality concepts
Experience with medical images and viewing software (ImageJ, Fiji, DICOM viewers)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Creative problem solver with a track record of delivering innovative technical solutions
Extensive experience creating and reviewing rigorous technical documentation
