At Tripadvisor, we want you to bring your unique perspective and experiences, so we can collectively revolutionize travel and together find the good out there. The Legal team is involved in all aspects of the Tripadvisor business, and we work closely with our global business partners to implement the Tripadvisor strategy and achieve the company’s goals.

What you’ll do:

Examples of responsibilities include:

• Drafting and negotiating a high volume of contracts with partners and vendors, including non-disclosure, master services, digital advertising, content license, data processing, partnership and software licensing agreements for Tripadvisor and its affiliate companies (“Tripadvisor Group”). As they gain experience, Legal Fellows are expected to proactively take assignments from existing intake channels.

• Managing the Tripadvisor Group’s intake of copyright notice and takedown requests, drafting responses, and tracking the statuses of a high volume of copyright complaints.

• Reviewing, drafting and responding to defamation and free speech claims and occasional small claims litigation, including presenting at weekly Litigation Team meetings, and responding to subpoenas, law enforcement requests for information, and consumer complaints

• Drafting and tracking intellectual property enforcement actions (such as cease-and-desist letters) worldwide.

• Assisting in-house and external intellectual property counsel with compiling metrics, evidence of use, and administrative paperwork for international trademark portfolio maintenance.

• Assisting with the management of Tripadvisor Group contract templates, including reviewing and updating to comply with changes in law or business practices.

• Making occasional updates to terms of use and privacy policies for the Tripadvisor Group.

• Conducting and communicating the findings from legal research projects on commercial, intellectual property, marketing, regulatory, and consumer protection matters.

• Assisting with locating, organizing and managing contracts.

• Support for multiple business units, including but not limited to: procurement, marketing, product and sales across all Tripadvisor brand verticals.

What we are looking for:

• Candidates must be 2026 law school graduates (and planning to take a U.S. state bar exam in the summer of 2026). Please do not apply if you have already graduated from law school. Ideally willing and able to work from Tripadvisor’s Needham, MA headquarters at least several days per month.

• Resume and transcript required; cover letter strongly recommended.

• Drive and ability to proactively take on problem-solving, acute tasks, and larger projects and see all matters through to completion.

• Resourcefulness and creativity while drafting, communicating, and completing projects when faced with novel problems and situations without obvious solutions.

• Strong reading comprehension and professional writing skills (including grammar and email etiquette) required.

• Ideal candidates have a noted interest in commercial contracts, intellectual property, cyberlaw, litigation, digital media and advertising, and/or marketing law.

• Excellent grades, relevant clinic and internship experience and/or law journal experience preferred.

• Ability and desire to proactively build relationships with internal clients and other members of the Legal team both virtually and in person.

About the Legal Fellow Program:

The Legal Fellow Program is a 2-year program for new law school graduates. At any given time, Tripadvisor’s Legal team aims to have two Legal Fellows in the program, one as a first-year Legal Fellow and the other a second-year Legal Fellow. The first-year Legal Fellow is mentored by the second-year Legal Fellow, as well as other members of the Legal Team.

Program Expectations:

• Legal Fellows are expected to begin the Fellow Program shortly after sitting for their U.S. state bar exam in July of their graduation year and remain in the Fellow Program for approximately two years.

• Legal Fellows are expected to pass their US state bar exam and gain in-house experience as a practicing attorney. Any concerns regarding a specific U.S. state par exam or retaking of the bar exam will be addressed on a case-by-case basis

• Legal Fellows are expected to seek employment outside of Tripadvisor upon completion of the Fellow Program.

• Legal Fellows work closely with their managers during this time for guidance, mentorship and timing considerations.

*Please include your resume, cover letter and transcript with your application*
