Job Description
At Saga, we're building the intelligence that helps lawyers think faster, work smarter, and stay in control of their craft. Our AI platform optimises legal workflows and enables lawyers to focus on what matters most: people, ethics, and impact. Building AI for lawyers requires a rare combination of deep legal expertise and technical fluency, working in lockstep. We’re hiring a Legal Engineer to be that bridge. Someone who understands how lawyers think, and translates that into systems, workflows, and tools that thousands of legal professionals rely on every day.
Your role as Legal Engineer
In this role, you design and build the AI workflows that power our platform. You work within Saga Lab, alongside other legal professionals and engineers, solving complex problems at the intersection of law and technology. You break down how legal work is actually done and rebuild it into structured, scalable processes that AI can support and improve. Your work moves across the full spectrum. From hands-on collaboration with clients to understand real-world problems, to working closely with engineers in prototype and refine solutions, to deep focus work where you design workflows and systems that hold up in practice. You also share your expertise more broadly, leading workshops and helping legal teams adopt new ways of working with AI. You might design workflows that mirror how experienced lawyers analyse contracts, enable the platform to perform sophisticated legal research, or build systems that help legal teams move faster without compromising quality. The work is varied, the challenges are complex and the expectations are high.
