About the Role
We are looking for a Cyprus-qualified Legal Counsel to join our legal function and support our growing IT business. This role will focus on corporate governance, commercial contracts, compliance, employment law matters, and day-to-day legal support for cross-functional teams across the group’s entities worldwide.
The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Procurement, HR, and business stakeholders, providing practical, business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Corporate Governance & Compliance:
• Handle corporate governance matters for Cyprus entities and other Welltech group companies worldwide, including coordination of corporate approvals, documentation, and record-keeping.
• Manage statutory, regulatory, and internal compliance matters for Cyprus entities, including timely filings, corporate records, and ongoing alignment with applicable legal, governance, and internal policy requirements.
• Assist with group-wide KYC and audit procedures, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-coordinated legal input.
• Commercial Contracts:
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including services, software, marketing, confidentiality, lease, and intra-group contracts.
• Cross-Functional Legal Support:
• Act as a trusted legal partner to Finance, Procurement, HR, and business teams, providing practical, business-oriented legal advice on day-to-day matters.
• Support cross-functional projects by ensuring timely legal review, clear communication, and alignment with business objectives.
• Work closely with external stakeholders, including corporate service providers, agents, and external counsel, to coordinate legal documentation and support timely resolution of legal matters.
• Employment Law Support:
• Provide legal advice on Cyprus employment law matters, acting as an advisory partner to the HR team.
• Review employment-related documentation, HR policies, and procedures where legal input is required.
• Support HR in complex, non-standard, or escalated employment matters, ensuring alignment with applicable Cyprus employment law and internal policies.
• Legal Operations & Process Improvement:
• Contribute to optimisation of legal workflows and processes; drive initiatives aimed at improving efficiency across the legal function and streamlining day-to-day legal support, including through the use of AI-enabled tools.
Required Qualifications
• Cyprus-qualified lawyer (must-have) with approximately 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally gained through a combination of law firm and in-house roles.
• Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law, with proven experience drafting and reviewing contracts and solid knowledge of Cyprus corporate governance, compliance, and employment law matters.
• Strong attention to detail, ownership, accountability, flexibility and adaptability.
• Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a dynamic environment.
• Fluency in English at minimum C1 level (drafting and negotiation language).

Nice to Have
• Multi-jurisdictional exposure and hands-on experience supporting companies across multiple jurisdictions worldwide would be an advantage.
• Experience working with or reviewing contracts with payment service providers (such as bank acquirers, PSPs, payment gateways, payment orchestration platforms).
• Hands-on experience with AI-enabled tools, designing and creating legal workflows (including AI-enabled workflows) to support contract review, drafting, legal research, and legal process optimisation - overall AI savviness and a track record of building such workflows would be considered a considerable advantage.
