Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our property management team with formal correspondence. This role will involve assisting property managers with documentation related to Right-to Manage (RTM) and First-Tier Tribunal (FTT) matters and preparing professional responses to client
communications.
The successful candidate will help reduce the administrative burden on property managers by handling time-consuming correspondence and ensuring responses are professional, consistent and aligned with UK property management regulations. Prior experience in UK property law is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
Review and respond to formal leaseholder correspondence, including letters and complaints.
Assist property managers in drafting responses regarding disputes, service charge queries and management issues.
Support preparation of documentation for RTM and FTT matters.
Conduct basic legal and regulatory research related to UK property management.
Prepare professional written responses to solicitors, leaseholders and other parties.
Compile documentation for tribunal cases or potential disputes.
Maintain accurate records of correspondence and legal-related matters.
Work closely with property managers to ensure consistent communication and appropriate handling of contentious matters.
Monitor ongoing disputes and track deadlines.
Assist in preparing summaries and reports for senior management where disputes escalate.
Skills & Qualifications
2–3 years’ experience in legal assistant, paralegal, or legal administrative roles.
Experience in property law, leasehold management, or dispute resolution is advantageous.
Strong written communication skills; ability to draft professional correspondence.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
Ability to analyse letters and identify key issues.
Strong research skills; ability to summarise information clearly.
Professional and calm when dealing with challenging correspondence.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Salary & Benefits
Salary: R25,000 – R30,000 per month (depending on experience
Contract: Permanent, Remote Role
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, aligned to UK business hours
Additional Requirements
Candidate must be based in Cape Town due to occasional visits to our Stellenbosch co-working space.
Reliable high-speed internet connection required during working hours.
Ability to work UK-aligned hours when required.
