Our client, an american law firm, which is specialized in criminal defense and personal injury cases, is looking for someone who embodies these principles.
Position: Legal Assistant
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM PST (ON SITE)
Responsibilities:
• Assist pre-litigation paralegals with client communication under attorney or Team Lead guidance
• Communicate empathetically and professionally with clients regarding treatment progress and case updates
• Support potential new clients through follow-up on firm retention opportunities
• Manage case activities, deadlines, and milestones using the firm’s case management system (CMS)
• Gather investigative materials such as medical records, bills, court documents, and public disclosure requests
• Collect insurance documentation, Letters of Representation/Protection, lien balances, and other required documents
• Maintain accurate and organized case files within CMS
• Provide administrative support including filing, scheduling, and follow-ups
• Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with legal ethics and firm protocols
• Participate in training, reviews, and continuing legal education as applicable
• Uphold the firm’s core values in all interactions
Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a legal setting, preferably personal injury
• Advanced proficiency in English
• Familiarity with personal injury pre-litigation or litigation terminology and processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
• Client-focused with strong emotional intelligence
• Knowledge of HIPAA, insurance processes, and medical documentation
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Experience with FileVine is a plus
