This position is an initial 12 month FTC to cover maternity.
Role Overview:
The Learning & Development Specialist will provide end-to-end L&D support across Medserv’s operational and support functions during a maternity leave period. The role requires the ability to rapidly assimilate internal business knowledge while applying robust external L&D methodologies and best practice to ensure continuity, quality and impact. The post holder will focus on onboarding, capability development, performance support and talent pipelines, underpinned by strong reporting, insight generation and governance. This role is critical in ensuring learning initiatives remain aligned to business priorities and are measurable, credible and operationally relevant.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Partner with leaders to identify and prioritise learning needs aligned to business and operational goals, applying robust L&D methodologies to deliver practical solutions.
Manage and enhance the LMS (LearnUpon), maintaining onboarding and development content, learning pathways and assessments.
Design and deliver live learning sessions and targeted interventions to address capability and performance gaps.
Support skills-based recruitment and succession planning through assessments, skills analysis and development pathways via the LMS
Produce clear, accurate, and actionable L&D reporting, translating data into insight to inform decision-making and workforce planning.
Coordinate external training across Ireland, the UK and Poland, including exploration of relevant funding or grant opportunities.
Owns and maintains the Learning SharePoint site and associated competency matrices in collaboration with managers.
Requirements and Skills:
Proven ability to quickly understand organisational structures, processes, and operational realities, even where prior internal knowledge is limited.
Demonstrated use or interest in structured learning frameworks and evaluation models to offset gaps in organisational familiarity.
Exceptional Reporting Capability: Strong experience producing, interpreting and presenting L&D data and insights for senior stakeholders.
Confident working with LMS platforms and digital learning tools to create, manage, and assess learning content.
Ability to improve clarity, consistency and usability of learning and process documentation.
Comfortable partnering with managers and leaders across multiple functions and geographies.
Practical, organised, and outcomes-focused with the ability to maintain momentum during a cover period.
Confident in leading and delivering training programmes and presentations to teams on various topics and assessing both efficiency and effectiveness of same

Salary €40,000 - €43,000

Additional Info:
Scope: Role covers all Medserv office locations and business units.
Travel: Occasional travel to other sites will be required.
Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site, with some flexibility for hybrid working.
Support: A structured training programme will be delivered to ensure a comprehensive handover across all platform tools and role responsibilities.
