JOB DESCRIPTION
You will act as the face of JAM and be a key ‘on the ground’ resource for leagues and programs. Overall, your goals will be to:
Ensure that existing members receive an exceptional experience
Ensure that leagues run smoothly
Facilitate operational tasks assigned by our head office team
Find new venues/facilities and members for JAM
Specifically, areas that you will be responsible for include:
The majority of your time will be spent in the evenings and some weekends executing leagues
Retention of current members with exceptional customer service
Sales of leagues/programs to individuals and captains, finding ways to fill empty space
Developing improvements for current league play.
Maintaining excellent relationships with current venues, and seeking new venues to enable growth
Assisting with the activation of regional promotions
Assisting and training league ambassadors carry out nightly duties
Helping with discipline issues that may arise during game play
Contributing to building our online community through interactions and contributions to our social media platforms
Attending league games onsite to ensure everything is running smoothly
Taking photos or videos of league play for social media promotion
Meeting with hired or prospective part-time staff
Administrative tasks can be done at home, with the support of the shared services team
Exploring new venues and facilities and collecting details about current venues
Collecting and creating fun content for JAM's social media platforms (videos, action shots, player interactions etc.)

Hardworking attitude with a “go getter” personality. You are known for taking initiative
You like capturing fun content around you (videos, pictures, conducting social media campaigns etc.)

Taking care of the little details first makes putting on a big show easy!
Must have incredible attention to detail, be a quick learner and an eye for creating and improving systems.
You have a logical brain, with strong pattern recognition skills. (You are probably better than average at puzzles and sudoku)
Go Getter
Be confident and motivated to positively interact with members, head office staff, and facility staff (face-to-face, emails, phone calls)
Hardworking attitude. You are known for taking initiative.
Finding unique ways to grow JAM's brand (new venues, members & growth opportunities)

Perfectly Seasoned
We are looking for someone who has past experience with planning events on every level. Someone who is able to clearly represent SSG to prospective businesses, while adopting our fun yet professional attitude.
Well Spoken & Written
It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyway. You’ll need to have strong self-monitoring skills, strong public speaking skills and be able to clearly articulate.
Knowledge of a wide variety of sports rules and formats is an asset!
Quick On Your Feet
Confidence in your ability to take control of a situation with a flair for being resourceful.
Strengths in planning, decision making, and creative problem solving.
You are a problem solver and enjoy coming up with creative solutions when needed.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have a valid G driver's license
Must have access to your own vehicle, the expectation will be that we will require you to use your own vehicle to transport supplies and equipment
WORKING LOCATION
Training will take place at venues in Niagara region or remotely depending on your location (to be discussed during the hiring process)
Additional training may take place remotely through online portals
Once trained, the majority of your time will likely be spent on the go in the afternoons and evenings from Monday to Wednesdays.
EXPECTED HOURS
Approximately 10-15 hours per week in the field to start
Please note this position will be starting immediately
COMPENSATION
All of our League Convenors earn $22 CAD per hour
We have created a very clear hourly increase plan that showcases how you can achieve future hourly rate increases based on the number of shifts you have worked. The increases will be reflected starting the pay period after you hit the specific shift milestone.
Base Rate = $22 CAD
After 50 Shifts = $23 CAD
After 100 Shifts = $24 CAD
After 200 Shifts = $25 CAD
After 300 Shifts = $26 CAD
League Convenors have the opportunity to participate in all of our tournaments at no charge (please note: that to be eligible to play in a tournament for free you must have a regular shift in the current season).
Part-Time Staff League Play Credit Program - This program recognizes your commitment and rewards you with quarterly league credits once you hit key shift milestones that can be used towards JAM league play.
After 25 Shifts Completed - $100 credit
After 50 Shifts Completed - $150 credit
After 100 Shifts Completed - $200 credit
