The Veterinary Technician Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations, maintaining workflow efficiency, supporting the medical team, and ensuring a high standard of patient care and client experience. This role serves as the bridge between staff and leadership.
1. Workflow & Operations Management
• Maintain smooth patient flow from check-in to discharge
• Monitor wait times and adjust staffing/assignments as needed
• Ensure all appointments and walk-ins are triaged appropriately
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in real time
• Support estimate compliance
• Ensure all services and charges are captured appropriately
2. Team Leadership & Accountability
• Lead by example in professionalism, efficiency, and attitude
• Hold team members accountable to SOPs and performance expectations
• Provide real-time coaching and redirection
• Support onboarding and training of new team members
3. Patient Care Oversight
• Ensure accurate and complete patient histories
• Verify treatments, diagnostics, and charges are completed correctly
• Assist with critical cases and high-acuity patients as needed
4. Client Experience
• Ensure timely communication with clients
• De-escalate client concerns professionally and confidently
• Maintain a compassionate, service-driven environment
5. Communication
• Act as liaison between DVMs, CSRs, and technicians
• Provide clear direction during shifts
• Escalate concerns to Practice Manager when needed
We're Looking For:
• An experienced veterinary technician with at least 1-year professional experience in a leadership role is required.• A certified veterinary technician with an active license in FL would be preferred, but is not required.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Consistent punctuality and reliability in adherence to scheduled shifts.
• Availability to work some weekend shifts.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with high accountability.
• Comprehensive knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
• Expertise in safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
• Proficiency in various sample collection methods, including blood, urine, fecal, and skin specimens.
• Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture.
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
• Commitment to professional ethics and continuous learning.
Pay Range: $23 - $28/hr. depending on level of experience.
