We are seeking a Lead Technologist with deep expertise in .NET and Microsoft Azure to drive architecture, hands-on engineering, and platform modernization for enterprise-grade systems. As a senior individual contributor, you will serve as the technical authority for critical services—owning solution architecture, guiding engineering quality, and accelerating delivery through automation, best practices, and effective cross-team collaboration. This role is ideal for a builder-architect who can balance strategic design with hands-on coding and technical leadership.

Experience

• 13+ years of software engineering with 7+ years building enterprise systems on .NET; 5+ years on Azure at scale.
• Proven experience designing microservices and event-driven architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

• Lead end-to-end architecture for cloud-native and cloud-migration solutions on Azure: microservices, event-driven systems, API platforms, and data integration patterns.
• Define solution blueprints, integration contracts, and Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs)—performance, reliability, scalability, cost, and security.
• Own domain-driven design (DDD), bounded contexts, and service decomposition; mentor teams on clean architecture and SOLID principles.
• Make pragmatic build vs. buy decisions; lead spikes, POCs, and architecture reviews.

Hands-On Engineering

• Design and build services using .NET 6 (C#), ASP.NET Core, EF Core, gRPC/REST, and Azure SDKs.
• Implement robust CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), infrastructure as code (Bicep/Terraform), and resilient deployment strategies (blue/green, canary).

Cloud & Platform (Azure)

• Architect and optimize solutions with Azure App Service / AKS, Functions, APIM, Service Bus/Event Hubs, Cosmos DB/SQL, Storage, Key Vault, Front Door, Traffic Manager, Event Grid.
• Champion security-by-design: Managed Identity, AAD, RBAC, Private Endpoints, VNET integration, Compliance (e.g., ISO/PCI/SOX as applicable).
• Optimize performance and cost: scaling strategies, caching (e.g., Azure Cache for Redis), throughput tuning, and right-sized infrastructure.

Quality, Governance & Risk Engineering

• Establish engineering standards: coding conventions, branching model, test strategy, code review guidelines, and definition of done.
• Drive secure SDLC: static/dynamic code analysis, dependency risk management, threat modeling (STRIDE), and remediation plans.
• Advocate test automation pyramid: unit, contract, integration, performance, and chaos testing.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product, Security, Data, and SRE to align architecture with business outcomes, resilience goals, and regulatory constraints.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear decision options, with trade-offs and TCO/ROI impacts.
• Mentor senior engineers; influence without authority across squads and vendor teams.
