About the client:

Our customer is the European online car market with over 30 million monthly users, with a market presence in 18 countries. As a Laed System Engineer/ Exchange Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of online car markets and enhancing the user experience for millions of car buyers and sellers.

Project Overview

We require an experienced Microsoft Exchange consultant to lead and manage a production migration to:

• Microsoft Exchange Server Subscription Edition (Exchange SE)

• Windows Server 2022

• 2-node DAG deployment

• AWS-hosted infrastructure

• Edge Transport decommission

• Backup implementation (Veeam)

• Third-party integration validation

This is a business-critical migration affecting approximately 200 users.

Requirements

• EDT Timezone work hours

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on Microsoft Exchange experience

• Proven experience with Exchange 2019 / Exchange SEExperience deploying Exchange in AWS (EC2, EBS, networking)

• Strong experience with Database Availability Group (DAG) design and configuration

• Experience migrating production Exchange environments

• Windows Server 2022 experience

• Active Directory schema preparation and health validation

• Experience implementing Exchange-aware backup solutions (Veeam preferred)

• Log truncation configuration and validation

• Recovery Database (RDB) restore procedures

• Backup retention design and restore testing

• Edge Transport decommission experience

• IronPort or similar secure mail gateway integration

• SSL certificate configuration (SAN / Autodiscover)

• Experience validating Exchange transport agents

• Handling third-party application compatibility during upgrades

• At least upper-intermediate English level

Responsibilities

• Review and validate the architecture design

• Prepare a detailed migration runbook

• Define rollback plan

• Implement Exchange SE deployment

• Configure DAG

• Oversee backup configuration

• Validate the restore procedure

• Lead production cutover

• Provide post-migration stabilization support

• Migration plan document

• Backup & restore validation documentation

• Rollback procedure

• Post-migration health report

• Knowledge transfer session

• On-call support during cutover window
