Trivelta builds the technology that powers a modern online sports betting & casino platform that operators use to launch and offer their own fully customized branded, legally compliant iGaming platforms and products that drive engagement, retention, and revenue. The Role

As a Lead Backend Software Engineer you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining the platform’s core infrastructure. As a technical leader, this individual will be responsible for driving innovation, optimizing system performance, and ensuring the scalability, security, and reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, security, compliance, and data analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect & Develop Backend SystemsDesign and implement scalable, high-performance backend solutions, ensuring robust APIs for mobile, web, and third-party integrations.

• Ensure Performance, Security & ComplianceOptimize system performance, scalability, and reliability. Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with AML, KYC, data privacy, and state-by-state sweepstakes regulations.

• Manage Data InfrastructureBuild and maintain data pipelines to support analytics, fraud detection, geolocation controls, and regulatory reporting.

• Lead & MentorProvide technical leadership, guide engineers in best practices, and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

• Drive Technical StrategyLead architectural discussions, evaluate emerging technologies in gaming, fintech, and AI fraud detection, and align solutions with long-term company goals.

• Collaborate Cross-FunctionallyPartner with product, finance, compliance, and support teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and ensure seamless operations.

• Ensure Operational ResilienceLead incident response for outages or security events, implement proactive monitoring and alerting systems, and conduct root cause analysis for long-term fixes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing, developing, and scaling high-performance backend systems.

• Expert hands-on experience with Python for backend development, automation, and data processing.

• Strong experience in API development, CI/CD processes, and infrastructure automation.

• Deep understanding of system performance tuning, security protocols, and regulatory compliance, including AML, KYC, and data privacy.

• Experience with data pipeline design, analytics integration, and geolocation-based access controls.

• Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring engineers and contributing to strategic architectural decisions.

• Excellent collaboration skills working with cross-functional teams across product, finance, compliance, and support.

• Hands-on experience with incident management, monitoring systems, and root cause analysis

Requirements

• Based in Barcelona

• Fluent in English

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience

• EU work authorization required — no visa sponsorship
