We are now looking for a Lead Software Developer to shape how our software teams operate and deliver across consumer-facing mobile apps and embedded firmware systems.

What You’ll Do

In this key leadership role, you will:

Provide technical leadership and oversight of both in-house and contract software development teams.

Lead the design, development, testing and delivery of our iOS and Android applications, embedded firmware, and associated cloud services.

Define and own the technical direction, standards, and architecture for Trimax’s end-to-end software ecosystem.

Own the software experience, architecture, performance, scaling and development pathways.

Mentor, coach and grow a diverse team of software engineers with best-practice techniques including code reviews and test-driven development.

Work closely with product owners, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers and leadership to align development goals with business objectives.

Drive continuous improvement in development processes, tooling, and cross-team collaboration.

Help recruit, evaluate and onboard software talent as the team expands.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can lead by example and delivers high-quality software solutions. The role will balance hands-on development with leadership and forward-thinking strategy generation. You will have:

You’ll haver at least 5 years proven experience as a Lead Software Developer, Technical Lead or similar role in a tech-driven organisation.

Strong background with mobile applications and embedded systems or firmware development, working to industry standard best practices.

Working knowledge of cross-platform front-end development tools and languages (React Native, Ionic/Capacitor, JavaScript), along with firmware tools and languages (VS Code, Platform IO, GCC, C/C++, Zephyr, FreeRTOS etc.)

Familiarity with communication protocols and their sub-sets (CAN, BLE, WiFI, I2C, RS485).

Experience managing distributed teams of developers, including external contractors.

Deep understanding of modern software workflows — CI/CD, GIT version control, unit/integration testing, automated pipelines, and architectural best practices.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical decisions for a range of stakeholders.

A passion for mentoring and growing engineers, fostering autonomy with accountability.

Degree in system, software or electrical engineering, computer science, information systems or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
